Beautiful Front Door Ideas

Your front door is the first thing guests see – and the last thing you see before stepping inside on a cold December evening. A little festive styling turns it into a warm welcome.

1. Start with a wreath

A wreath is the classic centrepiece. Choose one generous enough to suit your door – as a rule of thumb, about a third of the door's width. Hang it at eye level and add a velvet ribbon in deep red or forest green for a timeless finish.

2. Frame the doorway

A garland running up and over the door frame makes the entrance feel abundant. Weave in pine cones, berries or a string of warm-white lights for extra depth.

3. Light the way

Lanterns on either side of the step create a soft, inviting glow. Battery-powered candles are a safe choice outdoors and look beautiful from dusk onwards.

4. Add something living

Small potted conifers in matching planters frame the doorway and can be replanted in the garden after the season.
